As a social organization, we take the welfare of our Members quite seriously, and are committed to keeping personal data private! Our Privacy Policy applies to all MEMBERS, PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS, VENDORS, SUPPLIERS, WEBSITE VISITORS and GUESTS. 

Any individual using our website or joining our Club, by this act alone, agrees and consents to our Privacy Policy as outlined here.

This PRIVACY POLICY is provided to help you understand that which you have agreed and consented; the actions and precautions the La Jolla Newcomers Club is taking to protect your personal data; and your obligations to uphold this Privacy Policy. 

Collection, use and disclosure of personal information

La Jolla Newcomers Club collects and maintains information to support our Club's Operation. This data includes:

Personal Contact Information: Name, email, phone number, mailing address.

Member Details: Spouse/Life Partner, interests, neighborhood, former hometown, Club membership commencement date, Photo.

Payment & Participation Data: Payment history, Event registration, Photo Permission.

Digital Data: Addresses or cookies gathered via Google Analytics or other means, Communication receipts, Click and Open notifications.

This data is used to support our Club Operations:

• Manage memberships, send newsletters, and organize and conduct social events

Event Organizers and Interest Group Leaders (also Members) may use Member Profile data, Event RSVP and Registrations, and/or other data to support and create invitations, lists and participant communications.

• Promote the Club in the Community (photos/articles in La Jolla Light and/or other communications). 

A PHOTO PERMISSION box is provided in each Member Profile. Members must indicate YES or NO in the PHOTO PERMISSION field of their MEMBER PROFILE. Please note that La Jolla Newcomers Club allows each Member to select NO to OPT OUT of all PHOTO appearances(press, website, Newsletter and Member Directory), or to select YES and OPT IN to all. The Club does not maintain "levels" of permission. 

Photo Permission is maintained by each Member and can be updated at any time in the Member Profile.

• Enable Members to contact each other socially and/or in support of specific events through our Directory. Each Member is able to control what contact details DO and DO NOT appear in their Member Profile in the La Jolla Newcomers Club Member Directory. The Directory is only accessible to ACTIVE MEMBERS by way of a password protected and secure website.

The Directory is only visible to Members who are logged in to our secure website.

Each Member is able to define and control their personal PASSWORD.

Giving consent for others

Members are strictly prohibited from using, accessing, sharing or disseminating Member Contact Details for any purpose other than Club Activities or Social Connection. ANY FORM OF SOLICITATION, DISTRIBUTION OR SHARING of Member Details is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

La Jolla Newcomers Club will not ever sell, rent or distribute your personal data to any third party. 

Legal Requirement: In the event of a Legal Requirement to share data, La Jolla Newcomers Club will notify all Members. 

Third-party applications

You should be aware that La Jolla Newcomers Club uses third party service providers (webhosting, email, merchant services) in order to conduct Club Operations. La Jolla Newcomers Club takes care to select providers with proven security protocols and a track record of ethical operations.

Your rights

This Privacy Policy is provided to support your right to know and to conform with all statutes, regulations and laws.

We may update these policies occasionally. Any changes will be posted on our website and apply going forward.
